Our two majors have once again improved in national rankings

Recently, according to the "2023 Ranking of Chinese University Majors in Soft Science" released by the higher education professional evaluation institution "Soft Science", the national rankings of the Food Quality and Safety and Food Science and Engineering majors in our university have both been significantly improved. Both majors are rated A, with the Food Quality and Safety major ranking 6th in the country, an increase of 3 places compared to the previous year. The Food Science and Engineering major ranks 16th in the country, an increase of 6 places compared to the previous year. Both majors are among the top ranked universities in the province.

 

The professional categories listed in the "2023 Soft Science Chinese University Professional Ranking" are based on the majors set in the "Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions (April 2023)" by the Ministry of Education. In 2023, a total of 787 majors were released, involving 93 professional categories and 12 professional categories, making it the largest undergraduate professional ranking in China that covers the largest number of majors and has the largest scale of participating majors to date. The ranking sets five indicator categories: school conditions, subject support, professional student sources, professional employment, and professional conditions, with a total of 25 measurement indicators. The comprehensive evaluation of the major is formed by summarizing the evaluation at the three levels of school, subject, and major.

 

The School of Food and Biotechnology at Zhejiang Gongshang University is a college with distinct engineering characteristics and disciplinary advantages. It currently offers three undergraduate majors, Food Science and Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, Biotechnology, aimed at national enrollment. The college focuses on the comprehensive development of students' professional knowledge and practical abilities, providing comprehensive development plans for students, and effectively playing the guiding and leading role of the college in the construction and development of related majors in similar universities nationwide. Our school's food discipline will also continue to forge ahead, continuously improving its leading advantages in similar disciplines nationwide and making greater contributions.
